church-libraryOur church library is located in the heart of our church, just outside the Sanctuary. It serves as a place to gather, to meet friends before and after worship, and to share discussion and activities both on Sundays and throughout the week. The church library ministry is a also a significant resource for our small groups, classes, and individuals within the church and community.Specializing in books of particular interest to United Methodist Christians, the library strives to keep up to date with periodicals like Christian Century and Sojourners, with new books, and with media purchased regularly throughout the year.

Librarian Jim Lawson and his dedicated staff of library volunteers invite you to stop by on Thursday mornings at 10:00 a.m. The library is a self-serve institution, so you can check books out even when no volunteers are present. Jim writes a regular column for our Church newsletter, The Courier. Jim will also be posting information and reviews about new books added to our collection.

A sampling of titles that were recently added to the library are: Steps to Recovery from Bible Abuse by Dr. Rembert Rulock, Francis Asbury’s America by Francis Asbury, The Will of God by Leslie Weatherhead, Christ and Culture by H. Richard Niebuhr, An Introduction to New Testament Christology by Raymond Brown, and The Oxford History of Islam by John Esposito, and: Reading the Bible Again for the First Time by Marcus Borg.
