SPIRITUAL OPPORTUNITIES

Pacific NorthWest Conference Spiritual Retreat - Held every other year on a spring weekend, the day allows women to come together for a time of contemplation, meditation, fellowship and worship. The next one will be 2017.

Prayer Chain - This ministry provides communication of information about an individual or family in stress or crisis needing the support of thoughtful prayer. Any person may initiate a prayer request by calling the church office (360-943-2661) or Marilyn Dawson, Coordinator (360-352-7993).

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

District Meeting - Held yearly at a Tacoma District UM church, the meeting includes election of officers, awards, speakers and time to make connections with other district members.

District Training, LEAD (Leadership, Education And Development) - The annual one-day event held early in the calendar year provides local church UMW officers and members ways to learn about the organization, new programs and to gain skills for their office or interests. There are opportunities to meet with district officers and other members in the Tacoma UMW District.

Mission u - Each year, UMW members prepare for faithful living and action by studying mission studies which include geographical, topical and spiritual growth themes. These studies motivate, inform and enrich our commitment to global ministry. Held in Washington state during July, scholarships for registration, travel and housing are available.

Pacific NorthWest Conference Annual Meeting - The annual  fall UMW gathering includes the business of the organization, a variety of programming, worship and learning. Travel, housing and registration scholarships are available.

UMW Reading Program - Encouraging members to think critically about current issues, the annual selection of books are member-reviewed and cover different categories. They offer an excellent opportunity to deepen spirituality and to broaden the understanding of UMW mission work. Books are available on a cart in the church library.
