Come join us! The First United Methodist Church of Olympia is committed to providing young people a place where they feel free to develop and express their faith through relationships, study, and missions.
SENIOR HIGH AND MIDDLE SCHOOL SUNDAY MORNING EDUCATION
Grades: 7th through 12th - Every Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
7th and 8th graders devle deeply into the Bible through a study of the various figures from the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament. Every other year Confirmation is offered for 7th & 8th graders during the Sunday school hour.
9th through 12th graders attend youth-suggested topical studies which include discussion, journaling, and watching YouTube videos as we discern what it means to be Christians in the world today.
Grades: 7th through 12th - Sunday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Our youth engage in service, relationship building, prayer, and fun. As youth transition into adult lives, through youth ministry we help them grow in their relationship with God, with each other, and learn how to make Christian life relevant to themselves and the world. We strive to create a place where all youth feel accepted and where they can develop solid friendships. We are intentional about engaging in service projects, team building fun, and field trips to meet other young Christians in action.
Youth Group is planned by the youth themselves! We meet with youth and families once a semester to plan how we want to learn, grow and have fun together!
YOUTH MISSION TRIP
Each summer we take a week to go and serve a community in need. In past years, we have rebuilt homes lost in wildfires, sorted food and clothing for distribution, packed lunches for summer food programs, and built a new home for a family in Mexico. While we serve, we set aside time to reflect, pray, and worship together.
If you are interested in the coming summer’s trip, please contact a member of the Youth Ministry Team.
