There will be one worship service on June 25 at 10:00 a.m., combining contemporary and traditional music and giving us plenty of time to worship and give thanks for the ministry of Dolores Prouty, long time church secretary at First United Methodist Church of Olympia. The morning message from Pastors Peter and Ruth will be on discipleship and will be called “The Gospel According to Dolores.” The morning scripture will be Matthew 4:18-25.
Following worship, there will be a Pulled Pork Sandwich Potluck in the Great Hall. Enjoy a sandwich prepared in our kitchen and bring a salad or side dish to share with the crowd. There will be a basket available for cards and financial expressions of gratitude for Dolores’ long service to our church family.
Dolores (and Tom) won’t be strangers here. In retirement, Dolores will be enjoying taking care of grandbabies, tending her dahlias, and living the good life right here in Olympia. She has promised to be available to the pastors who plan to call often to consult her institutional memory.
